Each fall, the Pennsylvania Game Commission opens up certain tracts of State Gamelands for the public to peruse via self-guided tours. This year, SGL108 was highlighted, and the route between Frugality and Blandburg was full of beautiful fall foliage, excellent taxidermy specimens and plenty of rangers and other state employees willing to share knowledge about forestry, land management, and critters. After the tour, I drove past a collection of vintage cars near Glasgow and ultimately checked out the Prince Gallitzin State Park Apple Cider Festival for a few moments before the deluge started.
